Low Prognostic Nutritional Index Indicates Dismal Prognosis in Patients with Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma

Review Data

Purpose and Significance of Study: This study attempted to explore the prognostic value of baseline prognostic nutritional index (PNI) in diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL), which does not yet exist in the literature. The results show that PNI is a simple and useful marker to predict survival outcome in DLBCL patients, and low PNI is an independent predictor of a better outcome in terms of event-free survival and overall survival in DLBCL, suggesting that PNI is an effective prognostic factor in patients with DLBCL.

Fit with Scope of Journal: The manuscript is of very high interest for the journal Clinical Oncology and Research.

The manuscript has some minor errors (already corrected in the galley proof), which are listed below –

The common errors are –

·       Omission of articles, e.g., “a” before “worse” in the 1st sentence of Results in the Abstract, “an” before “aggressive” in the 3rd sentence of the 1st paragraph of the Introduction, and so on.

·       Omission of “,”, e.g., after “DLBCL patients” in the 1st sentence of Conclusion in the Abstract, after “DLBCL patients” in the 3rd sentence of the 1st paragraph of the Introduction, and so on.

·       “Extranodal” must always be written without hyphen to maintain consistency.

·       Words like “cut-off”, “p-value”, “antibody-dependent”, “cancer-related” and “event-free” must be hyphenated in all places to maintain consistency.
