Temporary Perineal Urethrostomy During Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP)

Temporary Perineal Urethrostomy During Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP)

Review Data

Purpose and Significance of Study: The authors attempted to determine the role of perineal urethrostomy in patients undergoing HoLEP for the relief of symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia. Although the sample size is very small (7), the inference that temporary perineal urethrostomy can be performed instead of aborting the procedure, are encouraging.
