Pedicled Tubular Omental Patch for Tamponade of Transfixing Gunshot Bilobar Liver Injury: A Case Report
Review Data
Q: Is the topic relevant to the journal area of interest? Is it contemporary and interesting for
researchers?
A: Good
Abstract & Keywords
Q: Are all required components included in the abstract? Are the keywords appropriately chosen?
A: Good

Q: Are methods the author uses adequate and well used?
A: Good
Discussion & Conclusion
Q: Is it related to the results presented before? Do you consider them as coherent?
A: Good
Comments: The Discussion explains the first presentation of the tubular patch used for the management of transfixing bilobar liver lesions providing relevant literature. It also provides a detailed account of the technique of using pedicled tubular omental patch (P-TOP). Lastly, this highlights the advantages and disadvantages of using the method. The Conclusion states that P-TOP may avoid complications associated with the balloon technique but requires a further prospective audit.

Comments: There are few errors found in the manuscript which are as follows:
· In Discussion, 13th sentence, “This resulted in the use of a P-TOP for to tamponade the injury after digital exploration of the liver wound” must be written as “This resulted in the use of a P-TOP to tamponade the injury after digital exploration of the liver wound”. In 19th sentence, “appropriate trimming of the omentum according to the size to the tract and maintain the blood supply” must be “appropriate trimming of the omentum according to the size of the tract and maintain the blood supply”.
· In Conclusion, 3rd sentence, “It may be able to avoid further complications associated the balloon technique but requires prospective audit” must be written as “It may be able to avoid further complications associated with the balloon technique but requires prospective audit”.
Further comments on the paper
Comments: This case presents a hemodynamically unstable 34-year-old male with multiple thoracoabdominal gunshot wounds, respiratory distress, and reduced consciousness. The examinations revealed a grade 3 transfixing bilobar hepatic wound with active hemorrhage. The report further illustrates the technique of tamponade of the wound tract using a pedicled tubular omental patch (P-TOP).
Q: Would you recommend this manuscript for further publication?
A: Yes - Suitable to be published
If you have any questions and clarifications you can write to the journal.
