Osteopathia Striata with Cranial Sclerosis Associated with Moyamoya Disease in a 3-Year-Old Girl

Review Data

Purpose and Significance of Study: This is the first documentation of a very rare case of osteopathia striata with cranial sclerosis due to a mutation in the WTX gene, with an unusual association with moyamoya disease. It also offers a review of the related literature.

Fit with Scope of Journal: The manuscript is of very high interest for the journal Surgical Case Reports.

The Discussion aptly explains the challenges and the treatment approach adopted in the present case with the help of justification from the relevant literature.

o   The manuscript contains a few minor errors (already corrected in the galley proof), which are listed below

·       In the 5th sentence of the 2nd paragraph of the Introduction, “hemiballism” is misspelled.

·       In the 4th sentence of the 1st paragraph of the Case history, “;” must be replaced with “,”, “imperfect” must be replaced with “imperfecta”, and “IDDM” must be replaced with “insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus”.

·       “Preoperative”, “intraoperative” and “postoperative” must be written as single words throughout for consistency.
