Purpose and Significance of Study: The manuscript depicts the case of a 54-year-old woman with metastasis to the temporal bone, temporomandibular joint and middle ear, 3 years after the original diagnosis of rectal cancer. This is a rare case. The report also offers suggestions for prevention and management of such cases.
Fit with Scope of Journal: The manuscript is of very high interest for the journal Surgical Case Reports.
o Some minor changes (already corrected in the galley proof) are required in the text, which are listed below –
· A common error is in the usage of “however”. “;” must be inserted before and “,” after “however” in the 6th sentence of the Abstract, the last sentence of Introduction and the 2nd sentence in the 5th paragraph of Case Presentation.
In the Title –
· “TMJ” must be replaced with “temporomandibular joint”, and “the” before “middle ear” must be removed.
In the Abstract –
· In the 11th sentence, “,” after “finding” must be removed, and “even more scarcely reported invading into the temporal bone” must be replaced with “an invasion into the temporal bone is even more scarcely reported”.
In the Introduction –
· In the 3rd sentence, “the” must be inserted before “staging”.
· In the last sentence, “presentation” must be replaced with “presentations”.
In the Case Presentation –
In the 1st paragraph –
· In the 1st sentence, “54 year old” must be replaced with “54-year-old”.
· In the 2nd sentence, “,” after “year” must be removed.
· In the 4th sentence, “pack year” must be hyphenated.
· In the last sentence, “well nourished” must be hyphenated.
In the 3rd paragraph –
· In the 4th sentence, “,” in both places must be removed.
In the 4th paragraph –
· In the 2nd sentence, “,” must be removed and placed after “pelvis”.
· In the 3rd sentence, “gastrografin” is misspelled.
In the 8th paragraph –
· “maxillo facial” must be written as a single word.
In the Discussion –
In the 1st paragraph –
· In the 2nd sentence, “,” must be inserted after “bone”.
In the 2nd paragraph –
· In the 1st sentence, “most common the liver” must be replaced with “(the most common being the liver)”.
In the 3rd paragraph –
· In the last sentence, “vasculature” is misspelled.
In the last paragraph –
· In the 2nd sentence, “to be” must be inserted after “deemed”.
· In the 7th sentence, “century old” must be hyphenated.
· In the last sentence, “suspicious” must be replaced with “suspicion”, and “a” before “truly” must be replaced with “the”.
