Further comments on the paper
Comments: This is a single-center retrospective study aiming at assessing the survival rate of 269 elderly and very elderly patients undergoing cardiac permanent pacemaker (PM) implantation. It also investigates the significant prognostic factors of mortality. The findings demonstrate that the primary prognostic factors are non-cardiological and show a good life expectancy, reduced cardiovascular arrhythmic mortality and increased the overall survival rate in elderly patients which concludes that pacemaker therapy seems to be a clinically effective therapeutic option to improve survival.
