Purpose and Significance of Study: The manuscript describes the encouraging results obtained using the combination of traditional Chinese medicinal herbsSalviae miltiorrhizae radix and Puerariae lobatae radix for treating peripheral arterial disease. This is an exciting example of evidence-based specific supplement of ethnopharmacological origin. 

 

Fit with Scope of Journal: The manuscript is of high interest for the Journal of Integrative Cardiology Open Access 

 

There are a few minor errors in the manuscript (already corrected in the galley proof). The common ones are  

·             Omission of “,” in many places, e.g., after “which” and “occurred” in the 3rd sentence of the 1st paragraph in the Introduction section. 

·             Omission of “the” in a few places, e.g., before “treatment” and “placebo” in the last sentence of the 2nd paragraph of Introduction in the Abstract section. 

·       The other errors are listed below – 

In the Abstract section – 

  Under Introduction – 

  In the 1st paragraph – 

·             In the 2nd sentence, Three clinical trials: viz. on patients with coronary arterial obstruction; hypertension; and post-menopausal border-line…” must be replaced with “Three clinical trials, viz. on patients with coronary arterial obstruction, hypertension, and post-menopausal borderline…”, and hyperlipidaemia” is misspelled. 

  Under Discussion – 

·             In the last sentence, “role” must be replaced with “roles”, and “ant fibrosis” must be replaced with “anti-fibrosis”. 

  Under Conclusion and Outlook – 

·             In the 1st sentence, “supplement” must be replaced with “supplements”, and “function” must be replaced with “functions”. 

·             In the 2nd sentence, “testify” must be replaced with “test”. 

In the Introduction section – 

  In the 7th paragraph – 

·             In the 1st sentence, “population based” must be hyphenated, and “were” after “12 months” must be replaced with “was”. 

Under The Present Study – 

  In the 1st paragraph – 

·             In the 2nd sentence, “medium sized” must be hyphenated, and “manifested” must be replaced with “manifest”. 

Under Design of Clinical Trial – 

  In the 1st paragraph – 

·             “placebo control” must be replaced with “placebo-controlled”. 

  In the 2nd paragraph – 

·             In the last sentence, “yet” must be replaced with “any”. 

Under Treatment – 

  In the 2nd paragraph – 

·             In the 1st sentence, “500 mgm” must be replaced with “500mg”. 

Under Statistical Analysis – 

·             In the 1st sentence, “increase” must be replaced with “increased”.

·             In the legend, “24 weeks treatment” must be replaced with “24-week treatment”. 

·             In the Table, in the 2nd row under Patients, “2” must be in superscript. 

In the Discussion section –

·             In the last sentence, “a” must be inserted before “much”, and “involvements” must be replaced with “involvement”. 

  In the 2nd paragraph – 

·             In the 2nd sentence, “;” after “spasm” must be replaced with “,”. 

·             In the 3rd sentence, “a” before “short term” must be replaced with “the”. 

  In the 3rd paragraph – 

·             In the last sentence, “varieties” must be replaced with “variety”. 

In the Conclusion and Outlook section – 

  In the 1st paragraph – 

·             In the 6th sentence, “over utilization” must be written as a single word.
