Prolonged Anhepatic Phase after Liver Transplantation Failure Followed by ABO Incompatible Liver Transplantation: A Case Report and Review of the Literature

Review Data

Purpose and Significance of Study: This is a report of a multimodal therapeutic approach in a patient after a fulminant hepatic failure following orthotopic liver transplantation resulting from occlusion of the portal vein. It was followed by total hepatectomy and 23 hours of total liver dysfunction, including 10 hours of anhepatic phase, after which a second liver, from an ABO-Incompatible donor, was transplanted. The description also takes the relevant literature into consideration.

Fit with Scope of Journal: The manuscript is of very high interest for the Journal of Clinical and Medical Case Reports.

In the Abstract –

·       In the last sentence, “of” after “outcome” must be replaced with “in”.

In the Introduction –
