“Undetectable, Now What?” HIV Provider Opinions on Barriers to Healthy Aging for Older People Living with HIV in North America

Purpose and Significance of Study: The manuscript depicts research on the aging-related problems encountered by people living with HIV in North America and suggests approaches to counter them. Although the results are not novel, it does offer some new insights. 

 

Fit with Scope of Journal: The manuscript is of very high interest for the journal Gerontology & Geriatric Research. 

 

There are a few errors (already corrected in the galley proof) in the manuscript. The common ones are – 

·       Omission of “the” a few times, e.g., before “delivery” in the 3rd sentence of the 2nd paragraph in the Background section, before “basic” in the 2nd sentence of the Study Population and Study Design in the Methods section, and so on. 

·       Omission of “,” a few times, e.g., after “aging” in Conclusion in the Abstract section, after “46.5%)” in the 5th sentence of the 2nd paragraph in the Background section, and so on. 

o   The other errors are listed below – 

In the Abstract section – 

  Under Objective – 

·       “better” must be shifted to the end of the sentence. 

  Under Key Results – 

·       In the 3rd sentence, “,” after “PLWH” must be removed. 

·       In the last sentence, “and” must be inserted before “yet”. 

In the Background section – 

  In the 1st paragraph – 

·       In the 4th sentence, “age associated” must be hyphenated. 

In the Methods section – 

  Under Provider Survey – 

·       In the 2nd sentence (considering the questions of the questionnaire as part of a single sentence), “a” before “HIV care provider” must be replaced with “an”. 

·       In the 3rd sentence, “diseases” must be replaced with “disease”. 

  Under Statistical Analysis – 

·       In the 2nd sentence, “was” must be replaced with “were”. 

In the Results section – 

  Under Characteristics of Respondents Compared to Non-Responders – 

·       In the 2nd sentence, “is” must be replaced with “are”. 

·       In the 3rd sentence, “American” must be replaced with “America”. 

  Under Perceived Barriers to Healthy Aging in PLWH – 

·       In the 1st and 3rd sentences, “high risk” must be hyphenated. 

In the Discussion section – 

  In the 2nd paragraph – 

·       In the 6th sentence, “that” after “different” must be replaced with “than”. 

  In the 3rd paragraph – 

·       In the 2nd sentence, “suggests” must be replaced with “suggest”.
