Ileocecal Intussusception in an Adult Secondary to a Colon Adenocarcinoma: A Case Report and Literature Review

Review Data

Purpose and Significance of Study: This is a report of a relatively rare case of ileocecal intussusception in an 80-year-old man secondary to a colon adenocarcinoma. It also offers a useful analysis of the existing literature on intussusceptions.

Fit with Scope of Journal: The manuscript is of high interest for the journal American Journal of Surgical Case Reports.

The Case Presentation is apt. The Discussion lays down a thorough analysis of the literature reports of intussusceptions with respect to their location, age of patient, range of symptoms, and diagnostic approaches to place the present case in context and offers useful insights from this case.
