A Rare Case Report of Infected Baker’s (Popliteal) Cyst

Review Data

Purpose and Significance of Study: This is a report of a case of Baker’s cyst in an elderly male, which was caused by Streptococcus anginosus, which is rare in the literature.

Fit with Scope of Journal: The manuscript is of very high interest for the journal Surgical Case Reports.

There are some minor changes (already corrected in the galley proof) required in the text, which are listed below

The common issues are –

·       “Baker cyst” must everywhere be replaced with “Baker’s cyst”, and “B” in it must always be in upper case.

·       The scientific names of the pathogens, e.g., “Streptococcus anginosus” must always be italicized, and the letters in the species name must always be in lower case.

·       Omission of articles in some places, e.g., “the” before “adult” in the 2nd sentence of the 1st paragraph of the Abstract, “a” before “limited” in the 2nd sentence of the 2nd paragraph of the Abstract, and so on.

In the Abstract –

  In the 1st paragraph –

·       In the 1st sentence, “fluid-filled” must be hyphenated.

·       In the 3rd sentence, “,” after “patient” must be removed, and “concern for a” must be removed.

  In the 2nd paragraph –

·       In the last sentence, “tomogram” must be replaced with “tomography”.

In the Case presentation –

  In the 3rd paragraph –

·       In the 2nd sentence, “CBC” must be in upper case.

  In the 6th paragraph –

·       In the 1st sentence, “methicillin-resistant” must be hyphenated.

·       In the 6th sentence, “was” must be replaced with “were”.
