Further comments on the paper

Comments: This case report presents a case of a 58-year-old female patient, diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) and early epithelial ovarian carcinoma. It focuses on the importance of surgical interventions such as hysterectomy, bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy, omentectomy and pelvic and para-aortic lymph node dissection which lead to better outcomes with no presence of residual cancer foci. This study emphasizes the association between autoimmune diseases and the development of cancer which may be due to the long-term complication of immunomodulatory and immunosuppressive therapy and lack of effective screening test strategies. It states that alarmingly vague presenting symptoms of these cases make the diagnosis challenging. Therefore, A high index of suspicion is required to facilitate early diagnosis and management of such co-occurrence of MS and ovarian cancer.
