Comments: The Discussion section, with the help of adequate relevant literature, determines the appropriate electrospinning parameters such as applied voltage, flow rate, spinneret-collector distance (S-C distance) and polymer solution concentration for preparation of poly lactic-co-glycolic acid (PLGA) fibrous membrane for guided tissue regeneration/guided bone regeneration (GTR/GBR) applications and analyses the effect of the parameters on the mean fiber diameter of the electrospun PLGA nanofibers. The Conclusion states that there is a significant variation in the mean fiber diameter with altering solution concentration and the electrospinning parameters such as applied voltage, polymer solution flow rate and S-C distance, thus rejecting the null hypothesis. It also identifies the appropriate measures of the parameters for the production of PLGA nanofibers to be used in the GTR/GBR membrane fabrication.

Further comments on the paper
Comments: This study evaluates the effect of electrospinning parameters and polymer solution concentration on the mean fiber diameter of the electrospun poly lactic-co-glycolic acid (PLGA) nanofibers and determines the appropriate electrospinning parameters such as applied voltage, flow rate, spinneret-collector distance (S-C distance) and polymer solution concentration for the production of PLGA nanofibers to be used in the guided tissue regeneration/guided bone regeneration (GTR/GBR) membrane fabrication. PLGA is a FDA-approved synthetic biodegradable polymer which has an excellent potential in a wide range of biomedical applications due to its unique properties. The findings of this study indicate that there is a significant variation in the mean fiber diameter with altering applied voltage, solution concentration, flow rate and S-C distance and thus, rejecting the null hypothesis. Thus, this study identifies the appropriate measures of the parameters and demonstrates that electrospinning parameters and solution concentration have a significant influence on the mean fiber diameter of electrospun PLGA nanofibers. Further studies are required to correlate the effect of mechanical properties and physical properties with mean fiber diameters and to determine the applicability of these nanofibers in various biomedical applications.
