Comments: This study compares the differential effects of combined bacterial antigen lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and lipoteichoic acid (LTA) with the stimulation by LPS alone on oral cancer cell lines in order to elucidate their different actions on oral cancer cell proliferation. It investigates the possible pathways that may be affected by these bacterial antigens. The findings show that Cal 27 after LPS+LTA stimulation produced the highest proliferation among all the oral cell lines. This study calls for further research on exploring bacterial components other than bacterial cell wall antigens, involved in the progression of oral squamous cell carcinoma on different oral cell lines.
