Discussion & Conclusion

Q: Is it related to the results presented before? Do you consider them as coherent?

A: Excellent

Comments: The Discussion section summarizes from the results that the different effects of combined bacterial antigen lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and lipoteichoic acid (LTA) increase the progression of oral cancer cell proliferation on Cal 27 oral cell line. This study provides insights for all the probable pathways that get affected due to bacterial antigen stimulation effects which result in downregulation of tumor-suppressor proteins and upregulation of proliferation-related proteins, leading to oral cancer progression.

Further comments on the paper

Comments: This study compares the differential effects of combined bacterial antigen lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and lipoteichoic acid (LTA) with the stimulation by LPS alone on oral cancer cell lines in order to elucidate their different actions on oral cancer cell proliferation. It investigates the possible pathways that may be affected by these bacterial antigens. The findings show that Cal 27 after LPS+LTA stimulation produced the highest proliferation among all the oral cell lines. This study calls for further research on exploring bacterial components other than bacterial cell wall antigens, involved in the progression of oral squamous cell carcinoma on different oral cell lines.

Q: Would you recommend this manuscript for further publication?
