From Neuroinflammation to Neuroprotection: Focus on Potential New Therapeutic Targets in Cognitive Impairment

Review Data

Purpose and Significance of Study: This is a review of the new targets for the therapy of disorders arising from neuroinflammation, especially focusing on the cholinergic neuron.

Fit with Scope of Journal: The manuscript is of very high interest for the journal Neurology and Neurobiology.

The manuscript contains just a few minor errors (already corrected in the galley proof), which are listed below –

The common ones are –

·       Omission of “,”, e.g., after “action” in the last sentence of the Abstract, after “diseases” and “therefore” in the 7th paragraph of From neuronal damage to neuroinflammation, and so on.

·       Omission of “the”, e.g., before “cholinergic” in the 5th sentence of the Abstract, before “M1” and “M2” in the 2nd sentence of the 6th paragraph of From neuronal damage to neuroinflammation, and so on.

·       Words like “so-called”, “well-tolerated” and “non-neuronal” must be hyphenated in all the places to maintain consistency.

The others are –

In the Title –

·       “New” must instead be placed after “Potential”, and “Therapeutic” must be inserted before “Targets”.

In the Abstract –

·       In the 6th sentence, “evidences” must be replaced with “evidence”, and “focused” must be replaced with “focuses on”.

·       In the last sentence, “strengthened” is misspelled.

In From neuronal damage to neuroinflammation –

  In the 2nd paragraph –

·       In the last sentence, “just” must be removed.

  In the 3rd paragraph –

·       In the 2nd sentence, “with” must be inserted after “together”.

  In the 4th paragraph –

  In the 5th paragraph –

·       In the 1st sentence, “microglia and astrocytes activation” must be replaced with “the activation of microglia and astrocytes”.

In The role of cholinergic precursors in neuroprotection –

  In the 1st paragraph –

·       In the 2nd sentence, “enzymes” is misspelled.

  In the 2nd paragraph –

·       In the last sentence, “an only” must be replaced with “one”, and “mimic” must be replaced with “mimics”.

  In the 3rd paragraph –

·       In the 2nd sentence, “. Among them” must be replaced with “, including”, thus joining the two sentences.

·       In the last sentence, “as” at the start and “,” after “(ALS)” must be removed.

  In the 4th paragraph –

·       In the 1st sentence, “evidences” must be replaced with “evidence”.

·       In the 4th sentence, “closely” must be removed.

  In the 5th paragraph –

·       In the 1st sentence, “,” after “citicoline” must be removed.

·       In the 4th sentence, “to” after “associated” must be replaced with “with”.
