Aberrations of TBX2-CHK2-p53 Signaling Pathway and its Role in Malignant Peripheral Nerve Sheath Tumors

Purpose and Significance of Study: This study was conducted on the genetic aberrations in the TBX2-CHK2-p53 pathway and concluded that TBX2 and CHK2 might be useful markers for malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors.

Fit with Scope of Journal: The manuscript is of very high interest for the Journal of Surgical Oncology.

 

o   The manuscript contains a few errors (already corrected in the galley proof, except the highlighted ones, which require the author’s attention), which are listed below –

 

The common errors are –

·       In the Abstract, omission of the full forms of various abbreviations, e.g., MPNST, NGS, IHC, AJCC, DFS and OS.

·       In a couple of places, “et al” was used in place of “etc.”, e.g., in the 1st and 5th sentences of point 3.1.

·       Omission of articles in many places throughout, e.g., before “TBX2-CHK2-p53 pathway” in many places.

·       In the 3rd sentence, “that” must be inserted after “found”.

·       In the 3rd and 4th sentences, “positive” must be replaced with “positively”.

·       In the heading, “the” must be removed.

·       In the 3rd sentence, “is” must be replaced with “was”.

·       In the last sentence, “were” must be replaced with “was”.

In the Results –

·       In the 5th sentence, “cancer related” must be hyphenated.

  Under point 3.2 –

  In the 1st paragraph –

·       In the 1st sentence, “outcome” must be replaced with “outcomes”.

  In the 2nd paragraph –

·       In the 3rd sentence, “frame shift” must be written as a single word.

  Under point 3.4 –

  In the 2nd paragraph –

·       In the 2nd sentence, “disease free” must be hyphenated.

  Under point 3.5 –

  In the 1st paragraph –

·       In the 2nd sentence, “a” before “NF1” must be replaced with “an”.

In the Discussion –

  In the 2nd paragraph –

·       In the 2nd sentence, “what’s more” must be replaced with “moreover”, and “the” must be removed.

·       In the 3rd sentence, “relationship” must be replaced with “relationships”, and “still need further studied” must be replaced with “need further study”.

  In the last paragraph –

·       In the 3rd sentence, “cells” must be replaced with “cell”.
