Purpose and Significance of Study: This is a review of the surgical outcomes of minimally invasive esophagectomy (MIE) for patients with esophageal cancer to clarify the surgical benefits of MIE in such patients.
Fit with Scope of Journal: The manuscript is of very high interest for the Journal of Surgical Oncology.
o The manuscript is mostly error-free. A few minor errors (already corrected in the galley proof) are –
· In the Abstract, “node” must be replaced with “nodes” in the 2nd sentence of Materials and Methods and the last sentence of Results.
· Omission of articles in a few places, e.g., before “number” in the last sentence of Results in the Abstract, before “large number” in the last sentence of Conclusions in the Abstract, and so on.
· In the 2nd sentence of the last paragraph of Introduction, “position” is misspelled.
· In the 6th sentence of the 3rd paragraph of Comparison of surgical outcomes between MIE-LP and OE, “to reduce” must be replaced with “in reducing”.
· In the 1st sentence of the 1st paragraph of Comparison of surgical outcomes between MIE-PP and MIE-LP, “that could compare” must be replaced with “compared”.
