A Surprising Finding of Ileal Intussusception Caused by Pleural Mesothelioma Metastases

Purpose and Significance of Study: This is only the 6th report of malignant mesothelioma with gastrointestinal involvement. This case highlights the potential of pleural mesothelioma to metastasize within abdominal viscera causing bowel obstruction.

Fit with Scope of Journal: The manuscript is of very high interest for the journal Surgical Case Reports.

The manuscript contains a few minor errors (already corrected in the galley proof, except the highlighted one, which requires the author’s attention) are required in the text, which are listed below

 

The common errors are –

·       “ileopsoas” must be replaced with “iliopsoas”, and it much be written as a single word without hyphen in all places to maintain consistency.

·       Omission of articles, e.g., “a” before “history” in the last sentence of Background in the Abstract, “the” before “patient” in the 2nd sentence of Case Presentation in the Abstract, and so on.

·       Omission of “,”, e.g., after “hemithorax” in the 2nd sentence of Background in the Abstract, after “viscera” in the 1st sentence of Conclusion in the Abstract, and so on.

·       “aware” must be replaced with “careful” in the last sentence of Background in the Abstract and in the 7th sentence of Background.

·       The meaning of the word “stomy” is not clear in the 2nd sentence of Conclusion in the Abstract, and the 5th sentence of Discussion; so, it must be replaced.

 

The other errors are –

In the Title –

·       “A” must be inserted at the start, and “finding” must be replaced with “case”.

In the Abstract –

  Under Background –

·       In the 2nd sentence, “are” must be replaced with “is”.

·       In the 3rd sentence, “manifests” must be replaced with “manifest”.

  Under Conclusion –

·       In the last sentence, “chemotherapy” is misspelled.

In the Background –

·       In the 1st sentence, “originates” must be replaced with “originating”.

·       In the 4th sentence, “involve” must be replaced with “involves”.

·       In the 5th sentence, “previous” must be replaced with “previously”.

·       In the 6th sentence, “patient” must be replaced with “patients”.

·       In the last sentence, “an” before “endoluminal” must be removed, and “metastases” must be replaced with “metastasis”.

In the Case Presentation –

·       In the 7th sentence, “probably metastatic” must be put within “”.

·       In the 8th sentence, “a” before “intussuscepted” must be replaced with “an”.

·       In the 11th sentence, “performing” must be replaced with “with the help of”.

·       In the 12th sentence, “)” must be inserted after “70%”.

·       In the 13th sentence, “i.v.” must be replaced with “IV”.

In the Discussion –

·       In the 3rd sentence, “SugerBaker” must be replaced with “Sugarbaker”.

·       In the 5th sentence, “resective surgery” must be replaced with “surgical resection”.
