Review Data

Purpose and Significance of Study: This is a very rare report of a case of the co-occurrence of submucosal schwannoma and low-grade mucinous neoplasm in appendix, thus making this a very useful contribution to the existing literature.

Fit with Scope of Journal: The manuscript is of very high interest for the journal Surgical Case Reports.

o   There are some minor changes (already corrected in the galley proof, except the highlighted ones, which require the author’s attention) required in the text, which are listed below

The common errors are –

·       Omission of “the” in many places throughout, e.g., before “appendix” in many places.

·       Words like “low-grade” and “slow-growing” must be hyphenated.

·       Omission of “,” in some places, e.g., after “appendix” in the 4th sentence of the Abstract.

The other errors are –

In the Title –

·       The word “pitfall” does not fit the context. “Conundrum” fits better.

In the Abstract –

·       In the 4th sentence, “appendiceal” is misspelled.

·       In the 5th sentence, “type” must be replaced with “types”.

·       In the 6th sentence, “been” must be inserted after “never”, and “this” must be inserted before “complicated”.

·       In the last sentence, “literatures” must be replaced with “literature”.

In the Introduction –

  In the 1st paragraph –

·       The 1st sentence “Tumors…early stage” is too long and the construction is incorrect, thus making it hard to read or understand.

·       In the 2nd sentence, “by” must be replaced with “with”.

  In the 2nd paragraph –

·       In the 1st sentence, “.” Must be replaced with “,”.

·       In the 2nd sentence, “A” must be inserted at the start.

·       In the 3rd sentence, “alert” must be replaced with “produce”.

·       In the 4th sentence, “for” must be replaced with “of”.

·       In the 5th sentence, “pitfalls” must be replaced with “hurdles”, and “we like to…Press” must be removed.

In the Case Presentation –

  In the 1st paragraph –

·       In the 3rd sentence, “for” must be inserted at the end.

·       In the 4th sentence, “tumors” must be replaced with “tumor”, and “also just” must be removed.

·       In the 5th sentence, “this” must be replaced with “that”, and “looks just” must be replaced with “looked”.

·       In the 6th sentence, “although…alter” does not make sense. So, it needs to be re-worded.

·       In the last sentence, “under” must be replaced with “we reached”, and “appendix” must be replaced with “appendiceal”.

  In the 4th paragraph –

·       In the 1st sentence, “independently…growing” must be replaced with “growing independently”.

·       In the 2nd sentence, “is” must be replaced with “was”.

In the Discussion –

  In the 2nd paragraph –

·       In the last sentence, “in” must be inserted before “clinical”, and “of” before “limited” must be replaced with “with”.

  In the 3rd paragraph –

·       The 4th sentence “Since…recurrence” is too wrong and incorrectly constructed, making it hard to read or understand. So, it must be re-framed.
