Aggressive Behaviour of Merkel Cell Carcinoma in a Kidney Transplant Patient Receiving Tacrolimus Treatment – Is There an Alternative in Immune Checkpoint Inhibitor Treatment?

Purpose and Significance of Study: This study successfully explored an alternative of usual and ineffective chemotherapy in the form of immune checkpoint inhibitor avelumab in the case of a Merkel cell carcinoma patient with kidney transplant.

 

Fit with Scope of Journal: The manuscript is of very high interest for the journal Clinical Oncology and Research.

The manuscript contains some minor errors (already corrected in the galley proof), which are listed below –

The common errors are –

·       “Immunocompromised” is misspelled.

·       “anti-CTLA-4” AND “anti-PD-1” must be consistently written in this form only.

·       “Checkpoint”, “locoregional”, “workup” “immunohistochemistry” and “immunocompromised” must be written as single words.

·       The words “submitted to” is used multiple times in place of “subjected to”.

·       Omission or overuse of “,”, e.g., omission before “approximately” in the 1st sentence of the 1st paragraph of Background, unnecessary use between “proved” and “yet” in the last sentence of the same paragraph, and so on.

·       Omission of articles, e.g., “a” before “transplanted” in the 7th sentence of the 1st paragraph of Background, “the” before “metastatic” in the 1st sentence of the 2nd paragraph of Background, and so on.

The other errors are –

In the Title –

·       “to” after “alternative” must be replaced with “in”.

 

In the Abstract –

  In the Background –

·       In the 2nd sentence, “age” must be replaced with “life”.

·       In the 3rd sentence, “patient” must be in plural.

·       In the 5th sentence, “,” after “and” must instead be placed after “patients”.

  In the Conclusion –

·       In the last sentence, “a” must be inserted before “few”.

In the Case presentation –

  In the 1st paragraph –

·       In the 1st sentence, “surgically and radiotreated” must be replaced with “treated with surgery and radiotherapy”.

·       In the 3rd sentence, “percutaneous” is misspelled.

·       In the last sentence, “zoster” is misspelled.

  In the 3rd paragraph –

·       “fotons” must be replaced with “photons”, and “day” must be replaced with “days”.

  In the last paragraph –

·       In the 6th sentence, “patient” must be replaced with “patient’s”, and “a” must be removed before “treatment” and “personalized”.

In the Discussion –

·       In the 1st sentence, “epithelial” is misspelled.

·       In the 4th sentence, “,” after “and” must instead be placed after “tumour”, and “others” must be replaced with “other”.

·       In the 8th sentence, “cyclosporin” and “azathioprine” are misspelled.

In the Conclusions –

·       In the 4th sentence, “immune therapy” must be replaced with “immunotherapy”, and “an” before it must be removed.
