Role of Wnt Signaling Pathways in Clear Cell Renal Cell Carcinoma Pathogenesis in Relation to VHL and HIF Status

Review Data

Purpose and Significance of Study: This is a review of the existing literature on the role of Wnt/ β-catenin signalling pathways and its crosstalk with VHL/HIF in clear cell renal cell carcinoma.

Fit with Scope of Journal: The manuscript is of very high interest for the journal Clinical Oncology and Research.

o   The manuscript is well-written and mostly error-free. A few minor errors (already corrected in the galley proof) are listed below –

In the Introduction –

  In the 1st paragraph –

·       In the 3rd sentence, “5y” must be replaced with “5-year” twice, “,” must be inserted after “60%”, and “non-ccRCC types” before “constitute” must be removed as it is a repetition.

·       In the 8th sentence, “factor” before “(IGF)” is missing.

In Role of Wnt co-factors in ccRCC –

  In the 3rd paragraph –

·       In the 1st sentence, “also” must be removed and inserted after “can”, and “factor” must be replaced with “factors”.

In the Summary –

·       In the 1st sentence, “the” must be inserted before “development”.

·       In the last sentence, “,” must be removed after “pathways”.
