Hsp70-2 is Highly Expressed in Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma and Involved in Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Invasiveness

Review Data

Purpose and Significance of Study: This is a detailed study of the involvement of HSP70 in the metastasis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma, and the underlying mechanism.

Fit with Scope of Journal: The manuscript is of very high interest for the journal Clinical Oncology and Research.

o   The manuscript has a few minor errors (already corrected in the galley proof, except the highlighted ones which require the author’s attention), listed below –

In the Title –

·       “in” must be inserted after “expressed”.

In the Abstract –

·       In the 1st sentence, “high metastasis characteristic” must be replaced with “highly metastatic character”.

·       In the 5th sentence, “dependent manner” must be replaced with “dependence” both times.

In the Introduction –

  In the 1st paragraph –

·       In the 3rd sentence, “causing” and “led” must be replaced with “causes” and “lead” respectively.

·       In the 7th sentence, “high metastasis mechanism” must be replaced with “mechanism underlying the high metastasis”.

  In the 2nd paragraph –

·       In the last sentence, “had” before “detected” must be removed and “metastasis” must be replaced with “metastatic”.

In Materials and Methods –

  Under Western-blotting assay –

·       The heading must be changed to “Western blot”. The same goes for the words in the 1st sentence.

  Under ATPase Activity Assay –

·       In the 1st sentence, “added 200ul lysis buffer” must be replaced with “200 ul lysis buffer added”.

·       The meaning of the last sentence “the supernatant…determined” is unclear, hence it must be re-written.

  Under Immunohistochemical analysis –

·       In the last sentence, “summed” must be replaced with “sum”.

In Results –

Under DNP increases HSP70-2 expression and ATPase activity –

·       In the 1st sentence, “high expression” must be replaced with “highly expressed”.

·       In the 9th sentence, “ability” must be replaced with “activity”.

·       In the 11th sentence, “effect” must be replaced with “dependence.

In Discussion –

  In the 1st paragraph –

·       In the 2nd sentence, “NPC total metastasis rate” must be replaced with “the total metastasis rate for NPC”.

·       In the 3rd sentence, “were” must be replaced with “are”.

·       In the 4th sentence, “recurrent” must be removed.

·       In the 7th sentence, “to modify” and “to find” must be replaced with “modification of” and “finding” respectively, and “one of the” must be removed.

  In the 2nd paragraph –

·       In the 4th sentence, “chemical carcinogens in the carcinogenic process of NPC” must be removed.

·       In the 5th sentence, “have induced” must be replaced with “having induced”, and “nitrosamine” must be in plural; also, there is no such term as “nitroso moverin”, so it must be replaced.

·       The 9th sentence, “to further…protein” must be removed as it is unnecessary.
