An Endoscopic Intraventricular Approach in Glioblastoma: A Case Report of an Adult Filipino with Periventricular Mass

Abstract: In this study, we present a case of a 58-year-old female with a 1-year history of a generalized headache who suddenly developed left-sided weakness accompanied by disorientation and changes in mood and behaviour. A cranial MRI plain and contrast revealed a right thalamo-mesencephalic mass with beginning hydrocephalus. The patient underwent endoscopic transventricular septostomy, biopsy of thalamic mass with ventriculoperitoneal shunt insertion under endoscopic guidance. The official histopathology results revealed a WHO Grade IV glioblastoma. The patient was subsequently treated with chemoradiation.Keywords: Intraventricular, periventricular, glioblastoma, endoscope
